# Speech to Text vs Quick VPN

The clearest difference is monetization model: Quick VPN at free with in-app purchases against Speech to Text's subscription. Quick VPN also leads on review sentiment (53% vs 37%) and ratings volume (1.4K vs 147). Speech to Text's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speech to Text sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Quick VPN sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Speech to Text against 4.4 for Quick VPN. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Quick VPN has 1.4K ratings behind it against 147, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 37% of Speech to Text's written reviews are positive against 53% of Quick VPN's.

Speech to Text ships an update every 3 days, Quick VPN every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
