# Google Smart Lock vs GLife

The clearest difference is rating: Google Smart Lock at 2.5 against GLife's 1.5. Google Smart Lock also leads on ratings volume (614 vs 6) and chart position (#132 vs unranked). GLife's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (33% vs 10%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Google Smart Lock holds the better App Store score, 2.5 against 1.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Google Smart Lock has 614 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 10% of Google Smart Lock's written reviews are positive against 33% of GLife's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Google Smart Lock ships an update every 2 months, GLife every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
