# Stapel vs SiteNote

The clearest difference is ads: Stapel at none against SiteNote's shown. Stapel also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 14.0). SiteNote's advantage is ratings volume (4 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stapel sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SiteNote sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Stapel against 5.0 for SiteNote. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 4 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Stapel ships an update fortnightly, SiteNote monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
