# Black vs Gravity

The clearest difference is price: Gravity at Free against Black's $0.99. Gravity also leads on ratings volume (35K vs 1.6K). Black's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (39% vs 25%). On rating, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Gravity is free to download; Black costs $0.99 up front. Black sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per year and Gravity sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Black against 4.5 for Gravity. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gravity has 35K ratings behind it against 1.6K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 39% of Black's written reviews are positive against 25% of Gravity's.

Black ships an update every 2 weeks, Gravity fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
