# Contacts Backup Share & Export vs Export Contact

The clearest difference is ads: Contacts Backup Share & Export at none against Export Contact's shown. Contacts Backup Share & Export also leads on review sentiment (74% vs 47%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). Export Contact's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (3.7K vs 41). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Contacts Backup Share & Export sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Export Contact sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Export Contact holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Export Contact has 3.7K ratings behind it against 41, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Contacts Backup Share & Export's written reviews are positive against 47% of Export Contact's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
