# Xessages vs Texter

The clearest difference is rating: Texter at 4.6 against Xessages's 3.6. Texter also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 22) and device support (4 vs 2). Xessages's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 21%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Xessages sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Texter sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Texter holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Texter has 1.2K ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Xessages's written reviews are positive against 21% of Texter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Xessages ships an update every 2 months, Texter monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
