# G vs CoreMotion Data Recorder

G and CoreMotion Data Recorder both sit at 3.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of CoreMotion Data Recorder's written reviews are positive against 50% of G's. G's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. G sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and CoreMotion Data Recorder sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.9 for G against 4.0 for CoreMotion Data Recorder. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: G has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 50% of G's written reviews are positive against 100% of CoreMotion Data Recorder's.

G ships an update every 4 days, CoreMotion Data Recorder every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on July 4, 2026 and June 11, 2026 respectively.
