# Group Text Free vs Mass Text Message

The clearest difference is rating: Mass Text Message at 3.8 against Group Text Free's 3.3. Group Text Free's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 months) and monetization model (free vs freemium). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Group Text Free sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Mass Text Message sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mass Text Message holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Group Text Free has 50 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 7% of Group Text Free's written reviews are positive against 0% of Mass Text Message's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Group Text Free ships an update every 3 days, Mass Text Message every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
