# i vs LAUSD

The clearest difference is rating: LAUSD at 2.8 against i's 2.4. LAUSD also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months) and device support (3 vs 1). i's advantage is ratings volume (23K vs 68). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

LAUSD holds the better App Store score, 2.8 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: i has 23K ratings behind it against 68, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 16% of i's written reviews are positive against 13% of LAUSD's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

i ships an update every 3 months, LAUSD monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
