# Book Lover vs Hypelist

The clearest difference is rating: Hypelist at 4.7 against Book Lover's 4.0. Hypelist also leads on ratings volume (444 vs 4). Book Lover's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 72%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Book Lover sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Hypelist sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hypelist holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hypelist has 444 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Book Lover's written reviews are positive against 72% of Hypelist's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Book Lover ships an update every 4 days, Hypelist weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
