# Real Pool 3D vs 8Ball.io

The clearest difference is ads: 8Ball.io at none against Real Pool 3D's shown. 8Ball.io also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 7 months) and review sentiment (90% vs 67%). Real Pool 3D's advantage is ratings volume (68K vs 98) and chart position (#136 vs unranked). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Real Pool 3D sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and 8Ball.io sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Real Pool 3D holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Real Pool 3D has 68K ratings behind it against 98, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Real Pool 3D's written reviews are positive against 90% of 8Ball.io's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Real Pool 3D ships an update every 7 months, 8Ball.io fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
