# StudyPug vs Elementary Algebra

The clearest difference is monetization model: Elementary Algebra at free with in-app purchases against StudyPug's subscription. Elementary Algebra also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). StudyPug's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (2.1K vs 30). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StudyPug sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Elementary Algebra sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for StudyPug against 4.7 for Elementary Algebra. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StudyPug has 2.1K ratings behind it against 30, so its average is the more settled of the two.

StudyPug ships an update every 8 days, Elementary Algebra every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
