# StudyPug vs FTCE Math Test Prep

The clearest difference is monetization model: FTCE Math Test Prep at free with in-app purchases against StudyPug's subscription. FTCE Math Test Prep also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). StudyPug's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 10 months) and ratings volume (2.1K vs 33). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StudyPug sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and FTCE Math Test Prep sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for StudyPug against 4.6 for FTCE Math Test Prep. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StudyPug has 2.1K ratings behind it against 33, so its average is the more settled of the two.

StudyPug ships an update every 8 days, FTCE Math Test Prep every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
