# Black Lite vs Screenify

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Black Lite at 67% against Screenify's 11%. Black Lite also leads on rating (4.6 vs 1.8) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 18 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Black Lite sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per year and Screenify sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Black Lite holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Black Lite has 4.4K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of Black Lite's written reviews are positive against 11% of Screenify's.

Black Lite ships an update every 3 weeks, Screenify every 18 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
