# Black Lite vs QR Mapper

The clearest difference is rating: QR Mapper at 5.0 against Black Lite's 4.6. Black Lite's advantage is ratings volume (4.4K vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Black Lite sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per year and QR Mapper sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

QR Mapper holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Black Lite has 4.4K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Black Lite ships an update every 3 weeks, QR Mapper every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
