# AxCrypt vs PlatePad

The clearest difference is review sentiment: PlatePad at 100% against AxCrypt's 41%. PlatePad also leads on rating (5.0 vs 3.7). AxCrypt's advantage is ratings volume (203 vs 3) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AxCrypt sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and PlatePad sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PlatePad holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AxCrypt has 203 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 41% of AxCrypt's written reviews are positive against 100% of PlatePad's.
