# ECNL vs Hudl Focus

The clearest difference is rating: ECNL at 4.6 against Hudl Focus's 3.9. ECNL also leads on ratings volume (5.8K vs 42) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). Hudl Focus's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (33% vs 10%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ECNL sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month. Hudl Focus asks for nothing beyond the download.

ECNL holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ECNL has 5.8K ratings behind it against 42, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 10% of ECNL's written reviews are positive against 33% of Hudl Focus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ECNL ships an update every 4 weeks, Hudl Focus fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
