# ECNL vs Ref Insight

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Ref Insight at 100% against ECNL's 10%. Ref Insight also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). ECNL's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 3.5) and ratings volume (5.8K vs 11). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ECNL sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month. Ref Insight asks for nothing beyond the download.

ECNL holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ECNL has 5.8K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 10% of ECNL's written reviews are positive against 100% of Ref Insight's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
