# Emojil vs Fontmaker

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Emojil at none against Fontmaker's 23. Emojil also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and update cadence (every 4 days vs monthly). Fontmaker's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (125K vs 21). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fontmaker sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Emojil asks for nothing beyond the download.

Fontmaker holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fontmaker has 125K ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Emojil's written reviews are positive against 67% of Fontmaker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Emojil ships an update every 4 days, Fontmaker monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
