# The Lost Shield vs Platformless

The clearest difference is price: Platformless at Free against The Lost Shield's $1.99. Platformless also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 7 months). The Lost Shield's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.4 vs 4.0). On review sentiment, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Platformless is free to download; The Lost Shield costs $1.99 up front. The Lost Shield sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Platformless sells 9 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Lost Shield holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Lost Shield has 29 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of The Lost Shield's written reviews are positive against 67% of Platformless's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Lost Shield ships an update every 7 months, Platformless every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 21, 2026 and June 10, 2026 respectively.
