# Magnetism vs NearLight

The clearest difference is review sentiment: NearLight at 100% against Magnetism's 50%. NearLight also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 33 months) and ratings volume (3 vs 1). Magnetism's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and price ($0.99 vs $3.99). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Magnetism costs $0.99 and NearLight $3.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Magnetism holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Magnetism's written reviews are positive against 100% of NearLight's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Magnetism ships an update every 33 months, NearLight every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
