# miniMovie vs Vlogr

miniMovie and Vlogr both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 90% of miniMovie's written reviews are positive against 50% of Vlogr's. miniMovie also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). Vlogr's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 6 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. miniMovie sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Vlogr sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for miniMovie against 4.7 for Vlogr. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Vlogr has 1.1K ratings behind it against 154, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 90% of miniMovie's written reviews are positive against 50% of Vlogr's.

miniMovie ships an update every 6 weeks, Vlogr every 10 days. Both last shipped on November 6, 2026.
