# DayNinja vs Focus Dog

The clearest difference is rating: Focus Dog at 4.7 against DayNinja's 4.0. Focus Dog also leads on ratings volume (917 vs 4) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). DayNinja's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and review sentiment (100% vs 85%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focus Dog sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. DayNinja asks for nothing beyond the download.

Focus Dog holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focus Dog has 917 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of DayNinja's written reviews are positive against 85% of Focus Dog's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DayNinja ships an update every 2 months, Focus Dog fortnightly. Both last shipped on November 2, 2026.
