# DayNinja vs Tomato Timer ۬

The clearest difference is rating: Tomato Timer ۬ at 4.7 against DayNinja's 4.0. Tomato Timer ۬ also leads on ratings volume (188 vs 4) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). DayNinja's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and review sentiment (100% vs 80%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tomato Timer ۬ sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. DayNinja asks for nothing beyond the download.

Tomato Timer ۬ holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tomato Timer ۬ has 188 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of DayNinja's written reviews are positive against 80% of Tomato Timer ۬'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DayNinja ships an update every 2 months, Tomato Timer ۬ every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
