# BBQ Go vs Temprobe

The clearest difference is monetization model: Temprobe at free against BBQ Go's paid. Temprobe also leads on review sentiment (44% vs 32%) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 3 months). BBQ Go's advantage is rating (2.7 vs 2.4) and ratings volume (154 vs 19). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BBQ Go holds the better App Store score, 2.7 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BBQ Go has 154 ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of BBQ Go's written reviews are positive against 44% of Temprobe's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BBQ Go ships an update every 3 months, Temprobe every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
