# Grammatisch vs A2

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: A2 at none against Grammatisch's 6. A2 also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 18.0). Grammatisch's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 24 months) and ratings volume (722 vs 3). On price, rating and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Grammatisch sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. A2 asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Grammatisch against 4.7 for A2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Grammatisch has 722 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 72% of Grammatisch's written reviews are positive against 60% of A2's.

Grammatisch ships an update fortnightly, A2 every 24 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
