# Aperitif vs Bolt Food

Aperitif and Bolt Food both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 41% of Aperitif's written reviews are positive against 9% of Bolt Food's. Aperitif also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.4). Bolt Food's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (9.7K vs 31). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Aperitif against 4.6 for Bolt Food. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bolt Food has 9.7K ratings behind it against 31, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 41% of Aperitif's written reviews are positive against 9% of Bolt Food's.

Aperitif ships an update every 4 months, Bolt Food fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
