# Tovala vs Snarky Tea

Tovala and Snarky Tea both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 95% of Snarky Tea's written reviews are positive against 44% of Tovala's. Snarky Tea also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Tovala's advantage is ratings volume (12K vs 2K). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Snarky Tea holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tovala has 12K ratings behind it against 2K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 44% of Tovala's written reviews are positive against 95% of Snarky Tea's.

Tovala ships an update every 11 days, Snarky Tea fortnightly. Both last shipped on November 7, 2026.
