# CatchACharacter vs TOSY Magnet Play

The clearest difference is rating: CatchACharacter at 4.6 against TOSY Magnet Play's 4.0. CatchACharacter also leads on ratings volume (1.5K vs 7) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). TOSY Magnet Play's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and ads (none vs shown). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CatchACharacter sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. TOSY Magnet Play asks for nothing beyond the download.

CatchACharacter holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CatchACharacter has 1.5K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 16% of CatchACharacter's written reviews are positive against 50% of TOSY Magnet Play's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CatchACharacter ships an update fortnightly, TOSY Magnet Play every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
