# Scale vs Printer App

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Scale at none against Printer App's 6. Printer App's advantage is ratings volume (352 vs 5) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Printer App sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days. Scale asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.0 for Scale against 3.9 for Printer App. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Printer App has 352 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Scale ships an update monthly, Printer App fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 22, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
