# Scale vs NebulaBuds

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Scale at none against NebulaBuds's 12. Scale also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). NebulaBuds's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (16K vs 5). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NebulaBuds sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Scale asks for nothing beyond the download.

NebulaBuds holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NebulaBuds has 16K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Scale ships an update monthly, NebulaBuds fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
