# FTSearch vs Barcode Scanner ..

The clearest difference is monetization model: Barcode Scanner .. at free with in-app purchases against FTSearch's subscription. Barcode Scanner .. also leads on review sentiment (70% vs 46%). FTSearch's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FTSearch sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year and Barcode Scanner .. sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Written reviews complicate that: 46% of FTSearch's written reviews are positive against 70% of Barcode Scanner ..'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
