# StarTimes ON vs MTN TV+

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: MTN TV+ at none against StarTimes ON's 21. MTN TV+ also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months) and rating (3.7 vs 3.5). StarTimes ON's advantage is review sentiment (30% vs 0%) and ratings volume (215 vs 7). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StarTimes ON sells 21 one-off in-app purchases. MTN TV+ asks for nothing beyond the download.

MTN TV+ holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StarTimes ON has 215 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of StarTimes ON's written reviews are positive against 0% of MTN TV+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

StarTimes ON ships an update every 2 months, MTN TV+ every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
