# DataClick vs Toad Reader

The clearest difference is rating: DataClick at 5.0 against Toad Reader's 3.9. DataClick also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). Toad Reader's advantage is ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DataClick holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Toad Reader has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

DataClick ships an update every 4 months, Toad Reader every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
