# Whenever vs Calendar Notes

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Calendar Notes at none against Whenever's 1. Calendar Notes also leads on ratings volume (133 vs 23). Whenever's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 11 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Whenever sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Calendar Notes asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Whenever against 4.9 for Calendar Notes. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calendar Notes has 133 ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 91% of Whenever's written reviews are positive against 93% of Calendar Notes's.

Whenever ships an update fortnightly, Calendar Notes every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
