# Drawing Pad vs Simple Drawing Pad

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Simple Drawing Pad at 100% against Drawing Pad's 44%. Simple Drawing Pad also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 29) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). Drawing Pad's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Drawing Pad sells 25 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Simple Drawing Pad asks for nothing beyond the download.

Drawing Pad holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Drawing Pad has 99K ratings behind it against 36, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of Drawing Pad's written reviews are positive against 100% of Simple Drawing Pad's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Drawing Pad ships an update every 6 days, Simple Drawing Pad every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
