# The Crown App vs Stash

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Stash at 62% against The Crown App's 0%. Stash also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 7) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). The Crown App's advantage is price (Free vs $5.99) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

The Crown App is free to download; Stash costs $5.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

The Crown App holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stash has 1.2K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of The Crown App's written reviews are positive against 62% of Stash's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Crown App ships an update every 2 months, Stash fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
