# Real Ghost Detector vs GhostTalk

The clearest difference is ads: Real Ghost Detector at none against GhostTalk's shown. Real Ghost Detector also leads on review sentiment (53% vs 40%) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 18.0). GhostTalk's advantage is update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 14 months) and rating (3.9 vs 3.6). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GhostTalk holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GhostTalk has 1.8K ratings behind it against 244, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Real Ghost Detector's written reviews are positive against 40% of GhostTalk's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Real Ghost Detector ships an update every 14 months, GhostTalk every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
