# Real Ghost Detector vs Ghost Talker

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Real Ghost Detector at none against Ghost Talker's 5. Real Ghost Detector also leads on review sentiment (53% vs 42%) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 18.0). Ghost Talker's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 14 months) and rating (3.9 vs 3.6). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ghost Talker sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 3 months. Real Ghost Detector asks for nothing beyond the download.

Ghost Talker holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ghost Talker has 2.2K ratings behind it against 244, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Real Ghost Detector's written reviews are positive against 42% of Ghost Talker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Real Ghost Detector ships an update every 14 months, Ghost Talker every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
