# Backgammon Match vs PPNards

The clearest difference is rating: PPNards at 4.1 against Backgammon Match's 3.2. Backgammon Match's advantage is iOS requirement (10.0 vs 13.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backgammon Match sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and PPNards sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PPNards holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 12 and 7 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Backgammon Match's written reviews are positive against 54% of PPNards's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Backgammon Match ships an update every 2 weeks, PPNards fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 22, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
