# Smoosh Lab vs Guncho

The clearest difference is update cadence: Guncho at weekly against Smoosh Lab's every 2 months. Guncho also leads on ratings volume (2K vs 34) and review sentiment (82% vs 60%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smoosh Lab sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Guncho sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Smoosh Lab against 4.7 for Guncho. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Guncho has 2K ratings behind it against 34, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 60% of Smoosh Lab's written reviews are positive against 82% of Guncho's.

Smoosh Lab ships an update every 2 months, Guncho weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
