# Phone Diagnostics vs Check My Device

The clearest difference is rating: Check My Device at 4.5 against Phone Diagnostics's 3.8. Phone Diagnostics's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Phone Diagnostics sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Check My Device sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Check My Device holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 86 and 95 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Phone Diagnostics's written reviews are positive against 47% of Check My Device's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Phone Diagnostics ships an update every 2 weeks, Check My Device every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
