# Learning English vs EWA

The clearest difference is ratings volume: EWA at 196K against Learning English's 42. EWA also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). Learning English's advantage is review sentiment (92% vs 75%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Learning English sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $8.49 per 7 days and EWA sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

EWA holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EWA has 196K ratings behind it against 42, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Learning English's written reviews are positive against 75% of EWA's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Learning English ships an update every 3 weeks, EWA weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
