# Apple TV vs Rokmate

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Apple TV at none against Rokmate's 4. Apple TV also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (1.9M vs 459). Rokmate's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 2 months). On price, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Rokmate sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Apple TV asks for nothing beyond the download.

Apple TV holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Apple TV has 1.9M ratings behind it against 459, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Apple TV's written reviews are positive against 56% of Rokmate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Apple TV ships an update every 2 months, Rokmate every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
