# GLAY vs Live Rock

The clearest difference is monetization model: Live Rock at free with in-app purchases against GLAY's subscription. Live Rock also leads on review sentiment (85% vs 51%) and update cadence (every 6 days vs monthly). GLAY's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GLAY sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.49 per month and Live Rock sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GLAY ships an update monthly, Live Rock every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
