# UTM Coordinates Tool vs CalTopo

The clearest difference is price: CalTopo at Free against UTM Coordinates Tool's $3.99. CalTopo also leads on rating (4.8 vs 3.9) and ratings volume (7.5K vs 11). UTM Coordinates Tool's advantage is review sentiment (71% vs 56%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 16.0). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

CalTopo is free to download; UTM Coordinates Tool costs $3.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CalTopo holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CalTopo has 7.5K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of UTM Coordinates Tool's written reviews are positive against 56% of CalTopo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
