# TIM vs BoxTalk

The clearest difference is rating: BoxTalk at 5.0 against TIM's 1.9. BoxTalk also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). TIM's advantage is ratings volume (731 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BoxTalk holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TIM has 731 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

TIM ships an update every 3 months, BoxTalk every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
