# REC vs Slate Me

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Slate Me at 100% against REC's 55%. Slate Me also leads on rating (5.0 vs 3.8) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). REC's advantage is ratings volume (70 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. REC sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Slate Me sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Slate Me holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: REC has 70 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 55% of REC's written reviews are positive against 100% of Slate Me's.

REC ships an update monthly, Slate Me fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
