# Note Quest vs Sightreading Exercises

Note Quest and Sightreading Exercises both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Sightreading Exercises's written reviews are positive against 52% of Note Quest's. Sightreading Exercises also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 months). Note Quest's advantage is ratings volume (622 vs 23) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs paid). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Note Quest sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Sightreading Exercises sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Note Quest against 4.4 for Sightreading Exercises. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Note Quest has 622 ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 52% of Note Quest's written reviews are positive against 100% of Sightreading Exercises's.

Note Quest ships an update every 3 months, Sightreading Exercises every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
