# AO Office vs Collabora Office

The clearest difference is rating: AO Office at 4.3 against Collabora Office's 3.3. AO Office also leads on ratings volume (1.5K vs 129) and device support (4 vs 2). Collabora Office's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AO Office sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Collabora Office asks for nothing beyond the download.

AO Office holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AO Office has 1.5K ratings behind it against 129, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of AO Office's written reviews are positive against 41% of Collabora Office's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AO Office ships an update every 5 weeks, Collabora Office every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
